1. CCS2 vs. GB/T Charging Standards
CCS2 (Combined Charging System Type 2)
Used in Europe, Australia, and some other markets.
Supports AC (Type 2) + DC fast charging in one plug.
DC pins are located at the bottom of the connector.
GB/T (Guobiao Standard – China)
GB/T AC (slow charging) uses a separate plug.
GB/T DC (fast charging) has a different pin layout than CCS2.
2. CCS2 to GB/T Adapter for DC Fast Charging
Purpose: Lets a GB/T-equipped EV (e.g., Chinese-made Tesla, BYD, NIO, Xpeng) charge at a CCS2 DC fast charger.
How it works: The adapter connects the CCS2 charger’s DC pins to the GB/T port.
Compatibility:
Only works for DC fast charging (not for AC charging).
Some EVs may require software support.
3. Key Considerations
1) Check EV Compatibility – Not all GB/T EVs support CCS2 charging via an adapter (some may need a firmware update).
2) Power Limits – Adapters may have max current/power limits (e.g., 200A, 500V).
3) Charging Speed – May be slower than native GB/T charging due to communication differences.
Safety & Certification – Only use properly certified adapters to avoid damage or safety risks.
