Why is IP55 often chosen for household charging piles?

Cost balance: IP55 is cheaper than IP65/IP67, but it has met the needs of most families.

Lightweight protection: No need for a completely sealed design, better heat dissipation (high protection level may affect heat dissipation).

Covering common risks: Can cope with daily rain and dust, no need for over-design.

Non-universal protection: IP55 cannot prevent direct impact from high-pressure water guns (avoid charging piles when washing cars) or long-term immersion.

Installation suggestions: Try to choose a sheltered location (such as under a canopy) to extend the life of the equipment.

If higher protection is required (such as IP66 protection against strong water jets), the actual environmental requirements and costs need to be evaluated.
